A heart that's broken

Can never be mended

By empty words

And careless gestures

Or by simply saying that "I miss you".

A heart that's broken

Can never be reignited

By the same patronizing actions

A heart that's already broken is also tired

Tired of feeling resentful but hopeful

Of spewing bitterness

But almost always

Already offering forgiveness

A heart that's broken

Is still breaking now

Until such time this heart learns

To fully let go and finally turn away

To consider saving itself

Before it irrevocably dies.
