Overcome Grief

It's okay to grieve.

Like the ebbing tides, we are swept away by grief. Managing our emotions time and time again when grief strikes so suddenly in the middle of a seemingly normal day can be so exhausting. The memories run almost automatic with just one scent, one scene, one word. And then almost immediately, we are consumed with this overwhelming feeling of emptiness and loss, wracking our entire body almost physically that it feels as if it has no end.

But let me remind you that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and those who are crushed in spirit. When grief strikes, you are not alone. Jesus went through the same suffering, so intense, that it is impossible to say that He would not understand. He does. He's the only one who can. And He is the only one who can give you the comfort that you need at this very moment. Go ahead and reach out to Him, call out to Him, ask Him why. He listens.

You need to know that it's okay to grieve. Take as much time as you can.

"May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant." - Psalms 119:76
