Thou Shall Not Cease Praying

During this time of waiting, it may seem like nothing is happening or ever going to happen. It can be discouraging to feel like our prayers are not being answered. We may start thinking, "I've already prayed too hard", "I've been praying so long". You know what? Don't lose heart. Praying is not preparing us for the greater work, prayer is the greater work.

The two parables that I can think of that struck me as something that is so far from the character of God, as with the judge (Luke 18) and the reluctant friend (Luke 11:5), but so close as our attitude should be when it comes to praying, with regard to the persistence of the widow and the friend in need. God who is never reluctant and is openly listening to our hearts, tells us to never stop praying because He responds to persistence. It is also our way to have an open communication with our Father who loves us dearly. He is kind-hearted and compassionate, He sees our tears and knows our anxieties. So when it feels like you have just reached an impasse, pray fervently. You may just be one prayer away from your breakthrough.

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
